Workforce Training

The Heart of Hospitality Workforce Development Training Program is an educational program established by the Mississippi Tourism Association to empower tourism professionals with the tools they need to create meaningful, positive experiences for guests in our state.

The program consists of (7) seven online video sessions (available in English and Spanish) covering a wide range of topics like listening and communication skills, connecting with guests, and positive impact on the visitor.

The courses are designed to guide participants on a journey through real-world experiences and situations they may encounter on a daily basis. Skills learned throughout each session will be tested through short quizzes, allowing participants to earn the designation of “Certified Hospitality Expert” (CHE) after successfully completing the program.

The mission of the Mississippi Tourism Association is to ensure all guests to Mississippi have a positive experience by creating certified professionals within a variety of industry segments in travel and tourism such as destination marketing organizations, attractions, hotels, restaurants and others. These educational tools are instrumental in making an impact in our state and the people, who live, work and play here.
